The business is seeking a talented Construction Lawyer to join their team as a Construction Contracts Manager. This role is ideal for a legal professional who is eager to apply their expertise in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Headquartered in London, this business employs over 250 people globally, focusing on delivering high-quality service and risk management solutions to its members across its business divisions. Founded over 100 years ago, the business has a rich history of providing insurance for a range of clients, particularly in the Construction and Maritime industries. The business provides comprehensive insurance management services, including claims handling, risk management, underwriting, and financial and regulatory support.

As a Construction Contracts Manager, you will play a vital role in reviewing appointment documents and negotiating amendments. You will join a large team of experienced solicitors and legal executives dedicated to assisting their members in securing appointments on terms that align with their coverage. You will also handle negotiations that arise from these appointments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing Members' appointment documents and related materials to provide guidance on coverage positions.
  • Proposing necessary amendments to ensure documents are within coverage parameters.
  • Negotiating amendments with Members' clients and/or their advisers as required.
  • Participating in meetings with Members to explain coverage issues.
  • Delivering presentations to members on coverage-related topics.
  • Reviewing and negotiating a broad range of contractual documentation with clients, sub-contractors, and consultants relating to Construction Law, including collateral warranties, framework agreements, joint venture agreements, NEC and FIDIC, and much more.

Requirements:

  • Experience in non-contentious construction law, gained from a law firm or an in-house legal team.
  • Familiarity with professional indemnity matters concerning construction professionals.
  • 1-8 PQE - UK Qualified.
