A Top 20 international firm is seeking a Projects Infrastructure Associate (3β6 PQE) to join its highly regarded team based out of Edinburgh or Glasgow. This role is ideal for a driven Projects / Infrastructure Associate looking to deepen and broaden experience at the top of the market. The role will involve:
- Advising on the full lifecycle of major projects, from development and procurement through construction, operation and maintenance.
- Acting on student accommodation schemes and heat network projects, alongside wider energy, transport and social infrastructure mandates.
- Drafting and negotiating project and commercial contracts, including PPP/PFI documentation, project finance arrangements and procurement-related agreements.
- Supporting the development, delivery and financing of large-scale infrastructure assets for public and private sector clients.
- Managing a varied caseload of high-value, multi-party matters, often as part of multi-disciplinary and cross-border teams.
- Taking an active role in client relationships, leading elements of negotiations, calls and meetings appropriate to your level.
- Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to business development and profile-raising initiatives.
You will work closely with a highly respected Partner and the wider UK and international team, putting you in a strong position to develop sought-after, specialist expertise in the projects and infrastructure space.
Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- 3β6 yearsβ PQE as a solicitor, with relevant infrastructure and projects experience.
- A strong track record on major infrastructure or energy projects, ideally including PPP/PFI, project finance and public procurement.
- Experience acting for public sector clients, sponsors or funders on the development, delivery or financing of infrastructure assets.
- Excellent understanding of commercial contracts relevant to infrastructure, energy and related developments.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with confidence handling complex documentation and leading aspects of transactions.
- The ability to manage a busy, varied caseload with appropriate independence, while supporting junior team members.
- A collegiate approach and the ability to build strong internal and client relationships.
- High levels of organisation and project management, with a focus on delivering consistently high standards.
