The Role
There is an opportunity for a talented Commercial Litigation Solicitor (2-4 PQE) to join a well-regarded Edinburgh team known for its high-quality work, collaborative culture and strong market reputation. You will handle a broad and stimulating caseload, with particular focus on commercial and property disputes, alongside involvement in inheritance and estate litigation. This is a dynamic and client-facing role where you will gain exposure to Sheriff Court, Land Court and Court of Session actions, as well as tribunal and inquiry work. You'll be trusted with responsibility from the outset and supported by experienced Partners committed to your long-term development.
The Work
- Manage a varied caseload of commercial and property disputes
- Advise on inheritance, executry and estate-related conflicts
- Supervise and mentor trainees within the team
- Appear in Sheriff Courts across Scotland and assist counsel in the Court of Session
- Act for a diverse client base including individuals, businesses, landowners and organisations
- Maintain regular client contact, providing clear, pragmatic advice
- Contribute legal updates and analysis for the firm's website and external publications
- Support business development initiatives and help strengthen client relationships
- Keep up to date with legal developments and contribute to the team's knowledge resources
Your Experience
- 2-4 years' PQE in Commercial Litigation
- Strong advocacy skills and confidence appearing in Sheriff Courts
- Excellent communication and client-care abilities
- Ability to manage a busy, varied caseload with accuracy and efficiency
- A proactive, collaborative and commercially aware approach
- Interest in business development and contributing to team growth
