Michelmores is a Top 100 law firm with a strong South West focus. For lawyers who want high-quality work without sacrificing work-life balance, this is a firm that offers both. The Construction & Engineering team advises on some of the most significant regional and national developments, combining first-rate clients with a culture that values flexibility, collaboration and long-term careers.
We are now looking for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our Exeter office, focusing on non-contentious construction. The role involves:
- Drafting and negotiating building contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties and ancillary documents
- Advising clients on procurement strategies and risk allocation
- Acting for developers, funders, public sector bodies, contractors and consultants on high-value, complex projects across energy, infrastructure, healthcare, education and commercial sectors
This is a chance to take on responsibility from day one, working closely with partners and clients, and to see transactions through from start to finish. You will be part of a team that also handles contentious matters, so there is scope to broaden your experience if that interests you, but the focus here is firmly on transactional work.
At Michelmores, career progression is taken seriously. Through the Michelmores Academy, you will have access to tailored training, mentoring and development resources, with real opportunities to grow within the firm. The culture is genuinely supportive and flexible, with a clear commitment to work-life balance alongside top-quality work.
We would like to hear from lawyers with 3-6 years' PQE in construction and engineering, with strong drafting and negotiating experience on standard form and bespoke contracts. If you are looking to build a serious career with a Top 100 firm in Exeter, while enjoying both the quality of work and balance the South West is known for, this is a standout opportunity.
