Lead the Firm's Biggest Revenue Driver

Here’s what makes this different: residential property isn’t a side offering here. It’s the firm’s highest revenue stream, and they know it. Conveyancing is genuinely valued, properly resourced, and treated as the commercial powerhouse it is. This isn’t a turnaround. The team is flourishing, the client base is loyal, and the firm’s reputation in Sussex residential property is undeniable. What they need now is leadership to take it further.

You’ll manage and grow the firm’s most important department within a Legal 500 practice that combines heritage with a genuinely vibrant culture. Think regular social events, family feel, people who actually want to come to work, not corporate jargon masking a grind.

The Role

  • Manage, mentor and develop a strong existing team
  • Handle a small caseload of complex, HNW residential matters (freehold/leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity, re-mortgages, lease extensions)
  • Build and deepen client relationships rooted in trust and mutual respect
  • Drive business development and departmental growth as the firm’s commercial priority

The firm has excellent community links, a varied client base built over years of first-class service, and consistent work from a loyal, long-standing client base. You’ll be backed to grow the firm’s biggest earner, not just maintain it.

About You

  • 8+ PQE as a Residential Property Solicitor with a proven track record in handling complex matters
  • Experience managing a team (Head of Residential Property or Conveyancing Partner level)
  • Dynamic, personable, commercially astute
  • Comfortable developing and managing high-value client relationships
  • Ready to lead the department the firm values most

What’s On Offer

  • Above market rate salary reflecting the department’s strategic importance
  • Legal 500-ranked firm with a stellar Sussex reputation
  • Excellent benefits package including hybrid/remote working
  • A culture that actually values work-life balance, social connection, and the work conveyancers do

This is a rare chance to lead a team that’s already performing well and is genuinely valued as the firm’s commercial engine. Apply now for immediate consideration.
