The Role

  • You’ll take a key position within the firm’s Southern Employment team, working closely with senior leadership to expand the practice and support a broad client base.
  • You’ll have the freedom to drive growth, develop your own profile and help shape the direction of the team.
  • Your work will cover the full range of employment law, acting primarily for employers across sectors like tech, retail, aviation, education, hospitality and sport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the Employment offering in Brighton and across the wider region.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of high-quality contentious and non-contentious matters.
  • Advise clients on tribunal claims, complex HR processes, TUPE, redundancies and employment documentation.
  • Support corporate transactions with employment law expertise.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with UK and international businesses.
  • Mentor and guide junior lawyers, helping develop the next generation of talent.
  • Drive business development and contribute to the firm’s popular client events and seminars.

About You

  • Senior Employment Solicitor with significant post-qualification experience (Legal Director level or ready to step up).
  • Strong technical background across contentious and advisory work.
  • Confident handling tribunal claims, internal HR processes and corporate support.
  • Skilled at building client relationships and trusted as a strategic adviser.
  • Natural leader who enjoys mentoring and team development.

  • Experience with education or international clients is helpful but not essential.
