They are seeking a talented Senior Associate (5-10 PQE) to play a key role in the growth of their Edinburgh Construction Disputes team.

What will you be doing?

Working within this highly rated and Tier 1 ranked National team, you will engage in the full range of contentious construction and engineering matters. With the support of an award-winning team of skilled and experienced colleagues, you will advise clients on sector-defining dispute resolution work which spans formats, sectors and borders.

Working with cutting-edge businesses, you will advise construction and engineering clients on mitigation strategies, mediation, arbitration and if required litigation.

Sector coverage includes renewable energy, major infrastructure projects, real estate developments and public sector works, with cases often being large-scale and newsworthy.

You will be working directly alongside Partners who are regarded internationally as go-to-names in the profession and will benefit from their ongoing tutelage and guidance as you build up your reputation in the field.

Matters are often highly sophisticated, complex and challenging – all of which will encourage you to develop your legal skill set as well as adjacent qualities such as high-level stakeholder management, adaptability and resilience – setting you up well for your career.

As this relatively new practice grows quickly, you will be in a strong position to quickly climb the ranks of a team who are well placed to become the leading contentious construction outfit in Scotland. Join them now and be assured the environment they have fostered will allow you to make the most out of your career.

About you?

  • An ambitious construction litigation lawyer with at least 5+ years of relevant PQE
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work with clients spanning the full spectrum of sectors and scale
  • Enjoys working in a friendly team environment and supporting junior colleagues in their development
  • Is commercially aware and knowledgeable about the current construction and engineering law landscape

What is the firm like?

This innovative Top 50 and multi-award-winning firm has expanded rapidly across the UK in recent years. In part, this is due to their focus and ability to produce results for their prestigious client base. However, it is also due to the significant focus that the management place on hiring the best legal talent, and ensuring staff flourish.

Rarely in firms operating at this level does a culture of approachability and supportiveness permeate from top to bottom. Collaboration is at the heart of the working model, and Partners willingly give up their time to train and mentor more junior team members.

Many of the lawyers have received individual recognition for their expertise, including from the Hot 100 and the Legal 500 Hall of Fame. It is a hotbed for rising stars and the ongoing professional development is a major selling point and one reason why staff stay at the business for such long durations.
