This is a construction role where you stay close to the project from start to finish, advising on the documents, the build and the issues that arise along the way.

The Opportunity:

  • Join a specialist Construction & Engineering team embedded within a strong real estate and development practice.
  • Work across the full lifecycle of construction projects, from procurement and contract drafting through to disputes and resolution.
  • Advise developers, housebuilders, operators and infrastructure clients on complex, commercially significant schemes.
  • Handle a true mix of non-contentious construction work alongside defects, payment and delay disputes as projects evolve.
  • Be involved early, stay involved throughout, and see the real-world impact of your advice.

The Work You'll Be Doing:

  • Drafting and negotiating JCT, NEC and bespoke construction contracts.
  • Advising on professional appointments, collateral warranties, bonds and third-party rights.
  • Supporting major development, care, retirement, marine and infrastructure projects.
  • Handling contentious construction issues including defects, termination, payment disputes and adjudications.
  • Working closely with real estate, planning, marine and disputes colleagues as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
