The Corporate Debt team sits within the firm’s market-leading Finance practice, advising both borrowers and lenders on a broad range of UK and international financing transactions. The team works seamlessly across offices and collaborates closely with colleagues across leveraged finance, funds, asset and project finance, real estate finance, debt capital markets, social housing, social and sustainable finance and structured finance.
The team is trusted by a significant number of financial institutions and corporates each year to structure, document and deliver global funding solutions. As main panel appointees for a wide range of lenders, the team structures debt facilities on a daily basis and is well known for its ability to anticipate lender positions, navigate policy requirements and deliver pragmatic, commercially focused solutions.
The practice is led by an award-winning Partner with over two decades at the firm, supported by a strong group of experienced lawyers who bring considerable depth of knowledge across the debt spectrum. You will work collaboratively not only within the Corporate Debt team, but also with partners and teams across the wider Finance practice.

Joining the firm’s highly respected Corporate Debt team, you will advise on a wide range of bespoke lending structures, including bank debt, bonds, private placements and other innovative financing solutions, helping to make complex transactions commercially viable.
Your role will include advising on:
- The structuring, negotiation and documentation of finance transactions for both borrowers and lenders, where technical accuracy and advanced drafting are central to the role
- Evolving ESG considerations, funding availability and incentive-based financing structures for corporates
- Acting on lender panel appointments, with regular exposure to lender policies, positions and risk considerations
- Managing and advising on complex risk and regulatory issues, including sanctions, national security considerations and pension scheme matters
- Coordinating cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions, working closely with international colleagues to ensure seamless delivery
As a Managing Associate, you will be a key member of a busy, high-performing and collegiate team. You will work closely with partners on complex matters, contribute to the ongoing development of client relationships and collaborate across the firm’s Finance teams on multi-disciplinary transactions.
There is a genuine focus on continuous development and long-term progression. You will be encouraged to take on significant responsibility, lead matters, play an active role in business development and support the supervision and development of junior lawyers — all within a supportive environment that is invested in your future at the firm.
Requirements:
- Be a qualified solicitor with at least 5 years' PQE, with Corporate debt finance transactions, acting for lenders and/or borrowers.
- Strong technical expertise in drafting and negotiating corporate debt documentation, including facility, security and intercreditor agreements.
- Able to work collaboratively across practice areas and jurisdictions to support efficient transaction delivery.
- Confident leading complex matters and contributing to high-quality, team-led advice.
- Commercially minded with a genuine interest in business development and client relationship building.
