About the Role
On behalf of our client, a UK Independent organisation in the aviation industry, we are currently recruiting for a Workshop Team Leader to sign off routine maintenance, inspections and service bulletins on CFM56 and LEAP Series Aircraft Engines while overseeing the shop floor and supervising junior technicians. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection, disassembly, repair, and reassembly of aircraft engines and components in line with approved procedures
- Certify completed work in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure all maintenance activities meet airworthiness, safety, and quality standards
- Act as a Team Leader, overseeing maintenance tasks and supervising engineers where needed
- Mentoring junior engineers, supporting learning and development where needed
- Interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and engineering drawings
- Conduct fault diagnosis and implement corrective actions
- Complete and sign off maintenance documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Support audits and ensure compliance with internal quality systems
- Liaise with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment
- Perform supplementary shop and housekeeping duties as required
- Ensure compliance and Health and Safety procedures as required
- Follow technical drawings/procedures as needed
- Keeping relevant records updated
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- A recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry
- Previous experience gained working in an engine shop or aircraft MRO
- Ability to act as certifying staff for engine maintenance and release to service
- A hands-on leader, with the ability and experience supervising and mentoring engineers
- Experience performing maintenance on the following engine types would be advantageous: CFM, LEAP, V2500
- Competency to follow appropriate Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Engine Shop Manual procedures
- Demonstrate required knowledge of Quality Procedures, as well as EASA/FAA Part 145 requirements and procedures
- A sound computer literacy with a basic understanding of the Microsoft Office applications
