JMC Aviation is working with an MRO company based in Manchester, looking to recruit a new Technical Liaison Engineer to join their team. This client is a leading MRO dealing with base maintenance as well as interior modifications, fuel systems repair and maintenance for both commercial and military aircraft. The company has been operating for close to 30 years, providing outstanding customer service and encouraging a warm, positive environment to aid employee progression.
This is a Permanent Position based in Manchester, UK. Monday to Friday, working 40 hours per week.

The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to provide liaison engineering support for structural repairs, including repair design, analysis, calculations, drawings and certification. Demonstrate a strong understanding of FARs, SBs, ADs and advisory circulars whilst communicating effectively both orally and in writing with internal teams and external customers.
Other duties involve:
- Performing structural analysis to substantiate aircraft repairs, both major and minor
- Developing repair schemes, including drawings or sketches and supporting analysis/calculations for FAA and CAA approval
- Utilising OEM technical data such as engineering drawings, structural repair manuals, illustrated parts catalogues and aircraft maintenance manuals
- Engaging directly with customers to understand their needs, timelines and deliverables
- Following up on the implementation of proposed repair schemes and revise as necessary to facilitate repair work
- Determining alternate materials and processes to ensure that design requirements, weight optimisation, safety and reliability standards are met
- Providing progress updates on work for the manager and the customer base
In order to be successful in this role the Technical Liaison Engineer will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
- Previous engineering experience in the aviation industry
- Experience in structural analysis and substantiating aircraft repairs
- Proficiency in preparing structural damage reports for submission to OEMs or STC holders
- Thorough understanding of applicable FARs and related regulations
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Subject to UK security vetting
