JMC Aviation is working with a Maintenance Repair Organisation based in Birmingham , looking to recruit a new Sheet Metal Worker to join their team.

This client is a leading MRO dealing with line and base maintenance as well as interior modifications, fuel systems repairs and maintenance for both commercial and military aircraft. The company has been operating for close to 30 years, providing outstanding customer service and encouraging a warm, positive environment to aid employee progression.

This is a Permanent Position based in Birmingham, UK .

Monday to Thursday, working 40 hours per week.

The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to carry out modifications and maintenance in accordance with approved drawings and maintenance data, taking full accountability for the technical integrity of all work performed.

Other duties involve

  • Complete strip/removal of major structural aircraft equipment
  • Interpret technical manuals, technical drawings and regulatory requirements
  • Installation of complex structural assemblies
  • Working to fine tolerances and high standards
  • Use sealants, various fasteners and bonding techniques as per technical standards
  • Maintain the highest standards of tool control within the work area
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment

In order to be successful in this role the Sheet Metal Worker will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes

  • Completed an engineering apprenticeship, ideally in aeronautical engineering or military equivalent
  • Live aircraft sheet metal/structural experience
  • Excellent knowledge of airframes
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Subject to UK security vetting
