JMC Aviation are working with an airline based in Manchester, looking to recruit a new Maintrol Engineer to join their team. This client is an aircraft maintenance subsidiary which provides support services such as fleet maintenance, cabin interior conversions and general ramp maintenance work for both their own fleet and other airlines. This vacancy is available due to business turnovers. This is a Permanent Position based in Manchester.

Shift pattern: 5-5-4 shift pattern, guaranteed 2 weekends off per month (days and nights)

The primary purpose of this role is to act as the central coordination point between Line Stations, third‑party maintenance providers and pilots to ensure safe and reliable daily operations delivery.

Other Duties Involve:

  • Manage scheduled and unscheduled Line Maintenance activities
  • Control and monitor Acceptable Deferred Defects (ADDs)
  • Support aircraft recovery through technical guidance, logistics coordination and oversight of crew duty‑time limitations
  • Provide real‑time technical assistance to flight crews and engineers
  • Coordinate information flow following aircraft incidents and contribute to recovery planning
  • Allocate aircraft in line with operational, engineering and maintenance priorities
  • Provide specialist technical support as required

In order to be successful in this role the Maintrol Engineer will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Hold a valid UK/EASA Part‑66 B1 or B2 Licence
  • Experience in a maintenance or maintenance‑control environments
  • Experience improving efficiency and reducing operational costs
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to processes
  • Good understanding of airline operations and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information
  • High level of situational awareness and decision‑making capability
