Office based, Exeter Airport. An exciting opportunity has arisen within JMC Aviation, the world’s leading Aviation Engineering, Training & Recruitment business for a Senior Finance Assistant to support our Finance Team.

Job Purpose: To provide support with the day to day running of the Finance department, ensuring an efficient and effective service is provided within the company. Assisting in ensuring the Finance function is able to meet changes in legislation and the company’s demands.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Update and monitor Gross Profit Margin reports and reviewing with Manager
- Assistance in producing weekly and monthly Management Information Packs
- Reconciling key control accounts within accounting software
- Processing of receipts and payments through company bank accounts and credit cards
- Daily management of company credit card software (SAP Concur)
- Creating new customer and supplier records on accounts software
- Monitor and maintenance of Approved Supplier List
- Processing and reconciling sales and purchase invoices
- Organising weekly supplier payments and dealing with queries from suppliers
- Credit control to ensure company invoices are paid within terms
- Adjusting sales import journal to reflect foreign currency amounts
- Producing of monthly debtor statements
- Weekly journal processing
- Producing of company quarterly VAT reports
- Processing of ONS submissions
- Prepare information when required for auditors and other external agencies
- Imports into Sage and Xero alongside relevant reconciliations
Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience with Sage 50 Accounts, Xero or similar accounting software
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience working within a busy office environment
- Strong organisational skills
- High level of confidentiality
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness to develop skills and knowledge
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work accurately and methodically with attention to detail
- High level of numeracy and ability to deal accurately with calculations of a complex nature
- Ability to organise, schedule and adapt work tasks to meet conflicting deadlines and respond to changing situations
Qualifications:
Essential for candidate to have minimum Level 2 AAT Accounts qualification and the willingness to work towards the full AAT qualification.
