About the Role
The Certifying Team Leader is responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day line maintenance activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient aircraft maintenance under the organization’s EASA/UK Part 145 approval. The role provides technical leadership, oversees maintenance task execution, ensures accurate documentation, and acts as the key technical authority during shift operations. Working closely with Planning, Management, and external partners, the Certifying Team Leader ensures that maintenance is completed to approved standards while supporting operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day line maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with company procedures and Part 145 requirements.
- Exercise certification privileges in accordance with personal authorization and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance during troubleshooting, repairs, defect rectification, and component replacement.
- Allocate tasks in line with the daily workload plan, continuously monitor progress, and adjust tasking based on operational and planning objectives throughout the day.
- Ensure effective communication with Planning, Management, to coordinate maintenance actions and support operational goals.
- Conduct pre- and post-maintenance briefings and debriefings to ensure clarity, safety, and continuity across the team.
- Ensure maintenance records, worksheets, tech logs, and associated documentation are completed accurately and promptly.
- Daily reporting on work progress and aircraft status to Planning.
- Ensuring all activities are clearly recorded for invoicing purposes.
- Ensuring all manhours are recorded for planning efficiency purposes.
- Report tooling and equipment discrepancies, shortages, or calibration issues to ensure proper tooling control.
- Support Planning as required and contributes to efficient resource utilization.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained daily in accordance with industry and company requirements.
- Liaise with internal departments and customers to support on-time performance and coordinated maintenance delivery.
- Support audits, investigations, safety reporting, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain personal authorizations, regulatory training, and competence to required standards.
Candidate Requirements:
- In depth knowledge of EASA and CAA Part-M and Part-145 legislation.
- EASA/UK Part 66 B1 and/or B2 Licence with relevant type ratings for the company fleet.
- Experience working within a Part 145 line maintenance environment.
- Prior experience as a Certifying Engineer; team leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of EASA/UK CAA Part 145, Part M/CAMO requirements, SMS principles, and human factors.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.
- Eligibility for required airport passes and airside driving permits.
