JMAN Group is a fast-growing data engineering & data science consultancy.

We work primarily with Private Equity Funds and their Portfolio Companies to create commercial value using Data & Artificial Intelligence.

In addition, we also work with growth businesses, large corporates, multinationals, and charities.

We are headquartered in London with Offices in New York, London and Chennai.

Our team of over 450 people is a unique blend of individuals with skills across commercial consulting, data science and software engineering.

We were founded by cousins Anush Newman (Co-founder & CEO) and Leo Valan (Co-founder & CTO) and have grown rapidly since 2019.

In May 2023 we took a minority investment from Baird Capital and in January 2024 we opened an office in New York with the ambition of growing our US business to be as large as, if not bigger than, our European business by 2027.

Position

To run projects/workstreams with clients on a day-to-day basis, hone your technical skills, and play a key role in building JMAN.

We believe the best way to learn is on the job – you’ll have access to a range of training materials which, with the support of your coach and team, will enable you to take on a leadership role on a client project from day one.

You’ll be suited to leading and delivering within a humble, busy, and smaller yet rapidly growing team and business, where client needs and delivery standards are high.

You’ll get to use your existing consulting skills, proactivity, commerciality, creative problem-solving, end‑to‑end project management, and collaborate daily, internally, externally, locally, and globally.

We have openings for Senior Associate Consultants (c. 2.5yrs relevant experience) and Consultants (c. 4yrs relevant experience).

Your key responsibilities

Our consultants are encouraged to get involved in all aspects of building JMAN, but your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and deliver client projects/workstreams, those with clear outcomes and those that are exploratory.
  • Manage day to day delivery of client engagements and provide oversight to the global delivery teams whilst taking responsibility for the outputs and recommendations across projects.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and recognise opportunities to extend projects or expand client accounts.
  • Work closely with a cross‑functional, international team to solve complex problems pragmatically and deliver a sustainable outcome.
  • Deliver high quality slide decks to effectively communicate to and influence multiple senior stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Drive internal projects and work alongside teams that look to improve the way we operate as a business.
  • Take responsibility for your own personal development by completing internal and external training initiatives as required.
  • Act as an ambassador of JMAN values and provide mentorship to more junior members in the team.

Requirements

  • Current right to work in the UK.
  • 4+ years relevant experience, ideally in consulting/professional services, but we’d also be interested if you’ve built strong consulting‑style skills in places like investment banking, private equity, or a fast‑paced start‑up.
  • Used to working on smaller projects and tighter teams where you roll your sleeves up.
  • Strong academic background and quantitative ability.
  • Confidence with numbers and numerate (e. g. financial modelling, data analysis).
  • Commercial acumen and commercially minded.
  • Tech‑toolkit wise, you’ve probably picked up (and want to grow further) in things like Excel, Tableau, Power Bi, Alteryx, Python, PPT or SQL.
  • Experience effectively line managing and/or coaching others.

The ways you’re likely to work

  • Comfortable stepping into client conversations, including the tough ones, and keeping things on track.
  • Problem‑solver at heart, thinking from first principles.
  • Proactive, goes above and beyond, and not afraid to suggest a change or voice an idea.
  • Strong on communication - writing, speaking, listening well, and adapting your style.

You’ll likely be the kind of person who

  • Is a self‑starter. Can work independently, in a team, and takes ownership and accountability.
  • Thrives under pressure and sees challenges as opportunities.
  • Displays a high level of self‑awareness and takes ownership for personal development.
  • Is solutions focussed, pragmatic, comfortable working with ambiguity in an agile environment, and able to bring additional structure when needed.

Beneficial if you have

  • A grounding in data science or AI.
  • Experience working in a global delivery model.
  • Foreign language skills (German, French or Spanish in particular)
  • Other information
  • Discretionary bonus – based on personal and company performance
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Pension with a company contribution up to 8%
