JMAN Group is a fast-growing data engineering & data science consultancy. We work primarily with Private Equity Funds and their Portfolio Companies to create commercial value using Data & Artificial Intelligence. In addition, we also work with growth businesses, large corporates, multinationals, and charities. We are headquartered in London with offices in New York and Chennai. Our team of 400+ people is a unique blend of individuals with skills across commercial consulting, data science and software engineering.

We were founded by cousins Anush Newman (Co-founder & CEO) and Leo Valan (Co-founder & CTO) and have grown rapidly since 2019. In May 2023 we took a minority investment from Baird Capital and in January 2024 we opened an office in New York with the ambition of growing our US business to be as large as our European business by 2027. Our UK team is currently 100+ people and as we are continuing to grow across all offices, we are always looking for ambitious, intelligent, self-motivated individuals excited to work for a global, high growth company in an exciting and fast paced environment.

Position

Your key responsibilities:

  • The primary focus of all our Consultants is to deliver high calibre commercial & technical solutions for our clients across our 4 core solutions: Core Reporting, Value Creation, Prep for Exit and Data Due Diligence.
  • Work as part of a small project team to deliver & build commercial & technical solutions for our clients.
  • Develop & maintain client relationships including identifying & helping realise new business opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for your own personal development, supported by our L&D team, by completing internal and external training initiatives as required.
  • Support (& lead) internal projects & activities (e.g. Develop new client solutions, Organize Office Socials).
  • Act as an ambassador of JMAN values and provide mentorship to more junior team members as you become more experienced.

Your skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in German is advantageous but not a necessity for this position.
  • Strong communication skills (Verbal, written, and listening).
  • You have an excellent academic background and strong quantitative ability.
  • You are proactive and are a high achiever in your chosen area of interest (e.g. Student Council, College Sports Team etc).
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think about a problem from first principles.
  • Data science experience (e.g. undergraduate major) is valuable but not required (many of our best people were humanities students who then learned technical skills only once they joined JMAN).
  • Knowledge of analytical tools including Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, Python, etc is valuable but not required.
  • You are ambitious, thoughtful, and not afraid to voice your opinion (e.g. Suggest a change in how the business could be run or voice an idea on how we could improve how we deliver a project).
  • You thrive under pressure and see challenges as opportunities.
  • You display a high level of self-awareness and take ownership of your personal development areas.
  • You are a self-starter and happy to get do whatever is required to help grow our London office.
