Lead a children’s home where you can shape how care is delivered, not just keep things running. You’ll have the trust to influence the home’s approach, guide the team, and make decisions that improve day-to-day care for young people with complex needs. You’ll also get support around safeguarding, Ofsted requirements and staff management, so you can keep strengthening your leadership and build towards future progression. You’ll work in a values-led setting where staff wellbeing and good practice care matter in practical ways, through training, support and a team that shares the same standards.

What you’ll do

  • You’ll oversee the running of a residential children’s home, making sure young people feel safe, supported and valued.
  • You’ll lead and support the staff team, providing supervision, guidance and clear direction. You’ll also develop care plans, behaviour plans and risk assessments, making sure each child’s needs are understood and met.
  • You’ll work closely with children, families, external agencies and professionals, while keeping the home compliant with Ofsted legislation, safeguarding procedures and childcare best practice.
  • You’ll also manage budgets, resources and admin, promote an inclusive environment, and review service delivery so improvements happen when they’re needed.

What you’ll need

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager in a residential children’s home.
  • Consistent Good or Outstanding Ofsted Judgements.
  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children and Young People’s Workforce. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred, along with strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is essential.
