The Role
As an Estimator, you'll be responsible for managing the estimating process from initial enquiry through to project handover.
You'll carry out detailed site surveys, produce accurate quotations, prepare bills of materials and work closely with both customers and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
This is a customer-facing role where attention to detail, commercial awareness and excellent communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and competitive quotations for new and existing clients.
- Carry out detailed site surveys and create project specifications.
- Analyse drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
- Ensure quotations are completed within agreed service level agreements.
- Prepare detailed bills of materials for each project.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure materials, tools, plant and equipment are available before project commencement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and contractors.
- Attend customer meetings and support new business opportunities.
- Compile project documentation, including health & safety requirements and site restrictions.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with commercial targets and expected profit margins.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience working as an Estimator within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of estimating construction works.
- CAD experience.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and other computer systems.
- Knowledge of current construction legislation and industry standards.
Desirable
- Experience using Sage 200.
- CSCS Card.
- IOSH qualification.
- SMSTS qualification (or higher).

You'll be comfortable speaking with customers, interpreting technical information and ensuring projects are accurately costed from the outset.
