IT Services Provider is hiring for a Legacy Technologies Network Architect to join their team based in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This role is paying between £60K - £70K + £6K car allowance + 10% bonus. SC Clearance will be required for this role. Seeking an experienced Network Architect with deep expertise in Legacy technologies and a strong background in secure environments. Circuit to packet experience is essential. This role will be based onsite for 4 days per week.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and support medium to large-scale network solutions using Legacy and modern networking technologies.
- Collaborate with service and project teams to understand business and technical requirements.
- Produce high-quality design documentation and lead design governance reviews.
- Provide hands-on support for configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of networking components.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of Legacy circuit-switched networks and point-to-point connectivity.
- Hands-on experience with TDM multiplexers/demultiplexers, synchronization, and QoS implementation.
- Deep understanding of SDH, WDM, ATM, Frame Relay, and circuit to packet emulation (CTP).
- Proven ability to configure and manage Routers, Switches, and older network devices.
- Familiarity with security measures including encryption, authentication, and secure routing protocols.
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex network issues in hybrid network environments.
- Previous experience working within or supporting Defence or National Security sectors is highly desirable.
