Job Description
My client is seeking a 3rd Line Messaging Applications Engineer with Solaris and Windows to be based onsite in Basingstoke. You will play a key function in the stability and performance of Legacy and modern messaging systems through incident resolution, problem management, and proactive service support. This is a permanent role paying between £48K – £55K + 3% Bonus + 10% DV Bonus. DV/SC Clearance is essential for this role.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage incidents: log,triage,assign and resolve using agreed toolsets and processes
- Conduct root cause analysis and ongoing problem investigations
- Monitor and support Nexor X500 DSA and Exchange 2003 messaging systems
- Liaise with intermediary customer contacts to resolve end-user issues
Skills and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of SMTP, X400 messaging, and X500 addressing
- Experience with Nexor DSA and address book replication
- UNIX Scripting skills and experience with Solaris 10
- Oracle 8-10g database experience
- Exposure to Interoperable C4I Services (ICS)
It would be an added advantage if you had experience of the following, or would be willing to learn:
- Microsoft Exchange 2003 and Server 2003
- Active Directory fundamentals
- VMware v5/v5.5 administration
- ITIL processes and best practices
