We are seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter to join our dynamic team. Our ideal candidate would live around Reading (Camberley, Basingstoke, etc) to have good access to the motorway networks to visit drivers across the areas that we cover. Their schedule would be predetermined (as much as possible bearing in mind the reactiveness of our industry).
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and demonstrate proficiency in fitting and assembly tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring that all components are accurately assembled to meet quality standards and specifications.
Responsibilities- Assemble and fit components using a variety of tools and equipment, ensuring precision and quality in every task.
- Conduct regular inspections of assembled parts to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Document work performed, including any modifications or repairs made during the fitting process.
- Proven experience as a Fitter - (Experience specifically Road Sweepers preferred)
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- NVQ level 3 plant Maintenance or Equivalent.
You will also be trained to work on Bitumen sprayers.
Standard hours: 55 hours per week, plus 8 hours every other weekend.
Overtime available: Overtime available at a higher rate of pay including weekends.
Holiday: 20 days + 8 days bank Holiday.
