As a Test Engineer, you’ll play a key role within JLR’s Advanced Propulsion Research Laboratory. You’ll help bring cutting‑edge battery electric vehicle technologies to life, supporting inverter and e‑machine testing that underpins our next generation of vehicles. What To Expect

  • In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers, technicians, and external partners to deliver high‑quality testing programmes.
  • You’ll combine hands‑on technical work with analytical thinking, helping unlock insights that shape future vehicle performance.
  • Preparing units under test and configuring advanced dynamometer test facilities to deliver accurate, reliable data.
  • Developing and executing test cases aligned to customer requirements and engineering standards.
  • Analysing test data to identify root causes, proposing solutions, and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Coordinating multiple test programmes, balancing priorities across stakeholders and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Collaborating across JLR, academia, and industry partners to enhance test capability and facility performance.

What You’ll Need

  • Demonstrating experience in power electronics testing, ideally with inverters or e‑machines.
  • Applying knowledge of data acquisition, automation systems, and test methodologies.
  • Understanding electrical and electronic systems, including interpreting circuits and diagrams.
  • Using tools such as ETAS INCA, Vector or AVL PUMA for analysis and test execution.
  • Communicating clearly and working collaboratively in cross‑functional technical teams.
