This role will work as part of the maintenance site services team at Solihull and is responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective tasks on electrical equipment. The Technical Electrical Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the plant and equipment is effectively maintained and its technical availability remains at 100%.
What to Expect
- Deliver both reactive and planned maintenance on electrical distribution systems to ensure operational reliability across all facilities.
- Apply structured fault-finding techniques to diagnose and repair control circuitry efficiently.
- Support initial and periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations in line with BS7671:2018 regulations.
- Conduct Electrical Equipment Testing (PAT) in accordance with the IET Code of Practice (5th Edition).
- Assist with the servicing, testing, and maintenance of emergency lighting systems to BS EN 50172 / BS 5266 standards.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with DSEAR and ATEX regulations while maintaining strict environmental and legislative compliance.
- Develop preventative maintenance plans based on manufacturer guidance and support identification of new low-voltage distribution equipment, with flexibility to adjust working hours and shift patterns as required.
