Come and join JLR as a Senior Test & Calibration Engineer - ADAS Motion Integration. You'll be at the forefront of shaping the driving experience of tomorrow. This is an opportunity to step into a pivotal role within our Digital Product Platform Engineering, where advanced systems, intelligent control and real-world vehicle behaviour come together. Working as part of the ADAS department, you'll contribute to technologies that sit at the heart of modern and future mobility.

Within the Vehicle Behaviour and Motion team, you'll play a leading role in bringing sophisticated control systems to life—bridging vehicle hardware and digital platforms to create a seamless, intuitive customer experience. From lateral and longitudinal motion control to motion planning across ADAS levels 1 through 4, this is a space where cutting-edge engineering meets tangible impact. The team applies model-based design to develop solutions that are already shaping the path towards fully autonomous driving.

In this role, you'll lead integration and calibration activities across complex systems, working across virtual environments and prototype vehicles alike. You'll be closely involved in analysing performance, refining actuator behaviour, reviewing interfaces and supporting commissioning through tailored tooling and scripts.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is a hands-on position with plenty of scope to make an impact. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading integration planning for actuator software and calibration activities across multiple programmes, working closely with key stakeholders.
  • Driving continuous improvement by proposing actuation software updates and collaborating with systems teams to define clear, effective requirements.
  • Integrating control systems across ECUs, vehicles, rigs and virtual environments, working with both in-house and supplier-developed solutions.
  • Developing and utilising specialised scripts and tools to support ECU diagnostics, vehicle commissioning and application engineering activities.
  • Carrying out on-vehicle and rig-based debugging using simulation tools, alongside logging, analysing and reporting system and vehicle data.
  • Defining and supporting network communication requirements, including documentation, submission into design processes and guiding approvals.
  • Supporting prototype and production builds, executing calibration testing, and championing system performance, standardisation and ongoing optimisation.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

To thrive in this role, you'll bring a solid background, relevant certifications, and the following key skills:

  • A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with relevant industry experience in automotive or advanced engineering environments.
  • Proven experience in data acquisition and analysis, using tools such as CANalyzer and MATLAB, within complex engineering or automotive settings.
  • A solid understanding of vehicle network communications, ECUs and automotive electronics, supported by practical, hands-on experience.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering calibration for complex, vehicle-level system attributes across full development cycles.
  • Hands-on experience working with mechatronic actuation systems in real-world engineering applications.
  • Experience planning and executing proving ground test activities, including vehicle testing and driving in a professional environment.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, built through experience engaging a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders, with the ability to adapt messaging to suit different audiences and desired outcomes.

BENEFITS

This role is rewarding in more ways than one. On top of our core offering, you'll do extraordinary work with amazing people. In addition, you can expect a wide range of benefits:

  • Discounted car purchase (open to family members, too).
  • A 52 week maternity leave policy and a 4 week paternity leave policy. Other parental leave policies are available.
  • A competitive pension.
  • A JLR company performance-related bonus.
  • An employee learning scheme providing funding for education, training and other activities which support the development of personal skills and promote lifelong learning.
  • Access to open, employee-led support and social networks.
