Come and join JLR as a Senior ADAS Triage & Defect Resolution Lead, playing a key role in the delivery of next‑generation assisted and automated driving technologies. This is an opportunity to work at the centre of complex, safety‑critical systems, where your judgement, technical understanding and problem‑solving skills will directly influence vehicle performance and customer experience.

Within the Assisted and Automated Driving team, you will take ownership of end‑to‑end triage and defect resolution across existing and new platforms. Working closely with software and system engineering teams, as well as external suppliers, you will assess, prioritise and assign issues, driving them through to timely and robust resolution. This role suits someone comfortable operating in an agile environment, able to cut through complexity, influence stakeholders and keep delivery moving in a demanding, fast‑paced setting.

The role is primarily based in Gaydon, UK, within a collaborative and highly capable engineering team. Occasional travel to China will be required to support supplier engagement and project delivery. If you enjoy taking responsibility, working across disciplines and solving difficult technical problems that matter, this role offers genuine scope to make an impact.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting the wider team through a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Own the end‑to‑end resolution of technical issues, supporting the successful delivery of ADAS products across existing and new platforms.
  • Manage supplier engagement, project planning, risk assessment and senior‑level status reporting, ensuring clear visibility of progress, issues and mitigations.
  • Apply structured defect resolution methodologies (such as 8D and 5 Whys), with a strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail and permanent fixes.
  • Use strong analytical and technical judgement to assess complex problems, drive root‑cause analysis, innovate where needed and make sound decisions.
  • Influence and persuade cross‑functional teams to remove blockers, maintain momentum and deliver to agreed quality and timescales.
  • Operate confidently in a fast‑paced, agile, start‑up‑like environment, thinking on your feet and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, communicating effectively at all levels and driving alignment and consensus across teams.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of experience, recognised training, and capabilities such as:

  • Proven experience working on complex automotive engineering projects, ideally within ADAS or similar safety‑critical systems.
  • Previous experience delivering software in a technical automotive environment, with exposure to AUTOSAR and POSIX‑based platforms.
  • Strong background in software development or technical leadership, with the ability to drive direct issue resolution.
  • Experience across engineering product management, product development, product ownership or engineering delivery roles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Demonstrable delivery of software using agile engineering methods, such as Scrum, Kanban or SAFe.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related discipline.

BENEFITS

This role is rewarding in more ways than one. On top of our core offering, you’ll do extraordinary work with amazing people. In addition, you can expect a wide range of benefits:

  • Discounted car purchase (open to family members, too).
  • A 52 week maternity leave policy and a 4 week paternity leave policy. Other parental leave policies are available.
  • A competitive pension.
