Join JLR as a Stator Manufacturing Process Engineer! We are seeking an accomplished Stator Manufacturing Process Engineer to play a pivotal role in advancing our electrification manufacturing technologies. As a Process Engineer within Global Manufacturing Engineering - Propulsion, you will be responsible for delivering cutting-edge manufacturing solutions for JLR’s high-profile portfolio of electric vehicles.

You will be at the forefront of developing state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and facilities for new, technologically advanced electric propulsion systems. Our team is dedicated to introducing industry-leading processes and facilities, incorporating the latest manufacturing technologies. You will collaborate closely with Product Development Engineers and external suppliers to ensure our manufacturing system designs meet world-class safety and quality standards. Additionally, you will work alongside plant engineers to ensure a seamless launch of the facility.

Based at our Whitley site, you will also have the opportunity to work at other JLR locations in the West Midlands, depending on project needs. Periodical travel overseas to collaborate with technology suppliers will also be part of this exciting role.

WHAT TO EXPECT
  • Utilise your expertise to develop and implement intricate machining and assembly processes, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and environmental objectives.
  • Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive written processes for manufacturing, ensuring clarity and efficiency in production workflows.
  • Ensure robust design for manufacture assessments and effective change management, maintaining high standards and adaptability in manufacturing practices.
  • Verify assembly processes and equipment both at supplier locations and within the manufacturing facility, ensuring consistency and reliability in production.
  • Support the resolution of technical issues, providing expert guidance and solutions to maintain smooth operations.
  • Plan, develop, and implement all necessary tooling, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing, enhancing precision and efficiency in production.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • Expertise in designing, optimizing, and managing manufacturing processes.
  • Strong skills in managing vendor and supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge and experience in end-to-end stator manufacturing processes.
  • Responsibility for the technical delivery of all or part of a high-volume manufacturing system (more than 100,000 units per annum).
  • Familiarity with Electric Drive Units (EDU) and their integration into automotive systems.
  • Experience in machine procurement, acceptance, facility installation, project management, machine capability analysis, commissioning, and product launch.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing and engineering processes, tools, and techniques.
