You will work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyse performance, and lead transformation initiatives.

Join the vehicle dynamics team at JLR to deliver the ride, steering, and handling of future world-class vehicles. This role oversees the entire vehicle dynamics of a car line, including integration and development. You will lead the car's development, involving other experts to optimise performance. You will take a holistic approach, considering vehicle dynamics, motion control, electronic systems, and controls, working closely with chassis, controls, and powertrain teams to ensure all aspects are tuned to perfection.

You will have ownership of the vehicle's dynamics, including tuning and working on models like the Defender brand. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of vehicle dynamics and the ability to integrate various systems to deliver a world-class driving experience.

The role requires proven experience in tuning loops of vehicle dynamics, with a track record of high-performance driving, particularly in limit handling and stability manoeuvres. You must work effectively as a key member of the development team and demonstrate vehicle performance status against targets to stakeholders and customers. This position is critical in shaping the driving experience of JLR vehicles, ensuring they deliver exceptional performance and handling.

What To Expect
  • Define, deliver, and achieve sign-off for all vehicle dynamics attribute targets, ensuring that each target is met to the highest standard.
  • Validate that targets can be achieved during the concept phase, establishing a solid foundation for subsequent development stages.
  • Ensure vehicle dynamics requirements are effectively cascaded and implemented across system and component teams, promoting cohesive and integrated development.
  • Demonstrate vehicle performance status versus targets to stakeholders and customers, providing clear and transparent updates on progress and achievements.
  • Lead and integrate the tuning of components such as springs, anti-roll bars (ARBs), dampers, bushes, and active systems, ensuring optimal performance and handling characteristics.
What You’ll Need
  • Experience in vehicle dynamics control systems tuning: Proficiency in tuning vehicle dynamics control systems to optimise performance.
  • High-level vehicle dynamics knowledge: Extensive understanding of vehicle dynamics principles and their application in automotive engineering.
  • Limit handling driving skills: Proven ability to drive cars at their limits, with experience in proving ground testing.
  • Valid driving licence: A valid driving licence is essential for conducting vehicle tests and evaluations.
  • CAE experience: Competence in computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools and techniques for setting targets in steering, ride, and handling.
