The role of Head of Workplace Operations, Non-Manufacturing Sites will focus on ensuring compliant and sustainable employee experience across the UK non-production Property Estate and provide a Strategic Framework for operating overseas facilities. The role is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and management of JLR’s non-production estate physical real estate assets, including buildings, infrastructure and equipment. The primary goal is to ensure that facilities are safe, compliant, efficient and fit for purpose, with services enhancing the employee experience, whilst supporting JLR’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence; ensure all facilities, building systems and services are running smoothly and efficiently to support JLR’s operations
- Health & Safety Compliance; maintain compliance with legal, health, safety and environmental regulations to ensure a safe workplace for employees and visitors, including regular audits and risk assessments
- Management of Vendors and Outsourced Providers; manage relationships and monitor performance through KPIs and regular reviews, with external service providers and ensure they meet contractual obligations and deliver value
- Strategic Planning; align workplace operations strategy and technology integration (e.g. integration of SMART building technologies) with the long-term business needs, including technology integration and future growth
- Budget Management; oversee and manage the workplace operations budget, identifying cost saving opportunities whilst maintaining and improving service standards
- Develop and lead emergency planning and ensure that buildings are equipped for natural disasters and other contingencies, including testing
- Undertake any other work as directed by your line manager in connection with the job as may be requested from time to time

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Hard skills
- BS/BA degree in a relevant subject (or equivalent work experience) required
- Significant experience of delivering a seamless integration of remote and in person Facilities Management through strategic planning
- Experience of the development and implementation of supplier strategy to drive value for money and employee experience
- Experience in the implementation of CAFM (Computer Aided Facilities Management) systems across multi-site complex portfolios
- Deep understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), maintenance, safety and environmental regulations and energy management
- In-depth knowledge of workplace safety regulations and the ability to implement compliant processes
- Demonstrable knowledge of risk and incident management across a complex multi-use portfolio including contingency planning
- Demonstrated ability to lead corporate wide, global initiatives

- Budgeting and Financial Acumen; competence in managing budgets for workplace operations
- Demonstrable experience of vendor management and managing large, outsourced contracts, driving continuous improvement and efficiencies alongside improving employee satisfaction
- Extensive experience in leadership and managing teams and influencing senior level leaders and cross functional stakeholders
