Come and join JLR as a Test & Calibration Engineer - ADAS Motion Integration. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Test & Calibration Engineer within our ADAS Motion Integration team, part of the wider Digital Product Platform Engineering function.
This team develops advanced driver assistance systems for both current and next generation vehicle platforms. Working across chassis, electrical systems and ADAS motion control, they focus on delivering technologies that improve the driving experience and support the progression towards automated driving.
Sitting within the Vehicle Behaviour and Motion team, this role plays a key part in developing control systems that bridge vehicle platforms with digital architecture to create a seamless, high-quality customer experience. The work spans both lateral and longitudinal motion control, supporting systems across multiple levels of autonomy. Using model-based design approaches, the team is shaping the future of intelligent vehicle behaviour and contributing to the long-term goal of fully autonomous driving.
The role itself focuses on integrating actuator software into higher-level systems, alongside testing and debugging across virtual environments, HIL facilities and prototype vehicles. You’ll be involved in analysing actuator performance, reviewing network interfaces and signal data, and developing scripts to support vehicle commissioning activities. It’s a hands-on engineering position with a strong focus on calibration and performance, ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges and contributing to cutting-edge vehicle technology.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You can expect a varied and rewarding role, where your day-to-day will involve tasks such as:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and plan integration and calibration activities across multiple vehicle programmes.
- Integrate control systems into ECUs, vehicles, test rigs, and virtual environments, working with both in-house teams and external suppliers.
- Develop and utilise specialised scripts on standard company toolsets to support ECU diagnostics and assist application and system engineers.
- Carry out debugging of control systems and interfaces on vehicles and rigs, using simulation tools to identify and resolve issues.
- Capture, log, and analyse vehicle and system data, providing clear insights and reporting on findings.
- Define network communication requirements to enable the successful deployment of chassis control systems.
- Provide technical support and documentation to manufacturing teams (prototype and production) to ensure successful build, calibration, and testing of vehicles.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
We’re looking for someone with the right blend of experience, qualifications, and practical skills, including:
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline).
- Experience in vehicle data collection and analysis using tools such as CANalyzer, MATLAB, CANape, and ETAS INCA.
- Understanding of vehicle network communications, ECUs, and automotive electronics.
- Proven experience delivering calibration for complex system attributes at full vehicle level.
- Proven experience working with mechatronic actuation systems, including integration, testing, and calibration.
- Proving ground experience, with the ability to plan and execute vehicle tests, including test driving where required.
- Written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyse problems effectively and adapt messaging to suit different stakeholders and desired outcomes.
BENEFITS
This role is rewarding in more ways than one. On top of our core offering, you’ll do extraordinary work with amazing people. In addition, you can expect a wide range of benefits:
- Discounted car purchase (open to family members, too).
- A 52 week maternity leave policy and a 4 week paternity leave policy. Other parental leave policies are available.
