Working in Manufacturing at JLR, you'll be the hands-on expert who brings innovation to life. This role sits with the KD Operations holding responsibility for the end-to-end set up, maintenance, and delivery of the packaging development of all parts shipped through the Imports and Exports Operations. The role is responsible for new model and model year introductions as well as business-as-usual delivery quality, cost and environmental improvements whilst optimising container density and utilisation targets.

What to Expect

  • Manage and execute packaging development activities to ensure there is a plan for every part packed through the Imports and Exports Operations function. This includes parts identification and visual aids, designating packaging location and structure to safeguard integrity of parts while optimising cost, environmental and container density/optimisation capabilities, creating and maintaining packaging specifications and instructions, cost and environmental continuous improvements.
  • Provide hands-on operation support responding to queries and andon issues to ensure production is maintained.
  • Project manage any packaging trials as appropriate, ensuring appropriate communications, allocation of responsibilities, risk assessments and feedback.
  • Liaise with the designated 3rd-party partners to ensure Dangerous Goods requirements are met, including arranging appropriate testing and certification of packaging as required by legislation.
  • Identify engineering change at part number level and update current packing processes to aid component identification with the 3PL packing partner.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience in packaging development and its application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Background in packaging supply chain operations.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in MS O365, SAP, CMMS, and PODS.
  • Clear understanding of current business objectives and behaviours.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
