ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Driver Trainee Technician, you will be supported through our 3-month trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Technician with a C1 driving licence.
Once you\’re fully trained, you\’ll have the unique opportunity of bringing our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers\’ door and installing the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, large electrical appliances, sound systems and TV sets) as part of a 2-person delivery crew.

Salary: Up to £31,020 (Annual) depending on experience for a Customer Delivery Hub, Driver Trainee, Technician.

Driver Trainee to Technician, Key Responsibilities:
As a Driver Trainee Technician, you will be supported through our 90-day Customer Delivery Driver trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Technician with a C1 driving licence.

Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service is your number one priority.

Assist in loading your vehicle with the daily deliveries while collaborating with the warehouse team.

Show great respect and courtesy for the customer\’s home, and handle unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.

Installing various products (including wall-mount TVs, integrated appliances, and hard-wired appliance installations). This will be completed efficiently and quickly for our customers, and will demonstrate how they work once installed.

Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to perform your role at your best.

Maintaining a safe working environment.
Upon completion of both C1 acquisition and Technician training by meeting all relevant criteria of the programme, your salary will increase up to £34,353 (Annual). It is important to note that the completion of the 90-day programme will be based on the individual’s input into the programme and may vary based on training needs therefore increase in pay can not be guaranteed.
Please note this role involves heavy lifting: You will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Essential skills/experience you\’ll need

UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.

Previous experience in a customer-facing role.

Have great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face-to-face.
