Job Description
Surveyor
We are recruiting into our Residential Building Consultancy team based in either London or Manchester. Our team works with all Client groups in the Affordable Housing, Specialist Care, Prime Central London, Build to Rent and Student Sectors delivering technical due diligence, professional work and project led work including contract administration and project monitoring.
We are looking for an outward-looking, ‘all-rounder’ Building Surveyor preferably with a residential sector track record, a strong sense of ‘team spirit’ and an ambition to deliver excellence.
What this job involves
- Undertaking Building Surveyor\\\’s inspections and preparing reports
- Completing technical due diligence for the sale or acquisition of existing assets
- Project, Fund and Bank Monitoring of new build residential and mixed use assets from one-off houses to new towers
- Employer’s Agent, Client Representative for new build and residential assets
- Preparing specifications for, and administering repair and refurbishment contracts
- Preparing planned preventative maintenance plans and stock condition surveys
- Undertaking building reinstatement cost assessments
- Assisting with co-ordination of portfolio instructions and undertaking other duties from time to time as may be reasonably required
- Making sustainable business links with both external and internal clients and offering a professional and excellent client service at all times
- Working with internal multi-disciplinary teams on shared instructions
- Undertaking business development with new and existing clients
- Some travel will be required in this role
Ideal candidate qualities
- Required to have the ability to work within a team and on own initiative
- Must be enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivated
- Must have strong verbal and numerical skills, and be comfortable with report writing
- Requires excellent time management and general organisational skills
- Is required to be flexible and have the ability to work under pressure
- MRICS (building surveying) with proven experience, preferably PQE in a commercial consultancy
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Clean driving licence
- Must be well presented and have excellent communication skills
