As an Apprentice Electrical Engineer you will work under the supervision of experienced electrical and building professionals to learn the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting across a range of electrical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist electrical engineers with design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems in commercial buildings.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including routine inspections and testing of electrical equipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical faults and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Support diverse and general maintenance activities across facilities, including routine inspections, basic repairs, equipment servicing, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- When not studying you will work alongside our experienced team, may travel to different sites within a geographical region, and will need to manage your time and commitments to complete assignments and deliver a valued role.
You will be studying towards a Level 3 Electrical Apprenticeship at London South Bank University. Full UK Driving Licence required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including a grade 5 in Maths.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about a career in engineering.
- Eager to develop new skills and knowledge in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Good attendance, self‑discipline and time management; ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
