Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Carry out PPM on all types of heavy commercial and industrial refrigeration systems utilising all types of refrigerants – ammonia, F‑Gas (HFC and HFO), carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons.
- Reactive service including fault‑finding mechanical, electrical and control systems, including performing emergency standby rota duties.
- Compressor repairs and overhauls.
- Leak testing.
- Pressure testing.
- Refrigerant recovery and charging.
- Ability to operate on own initiative and as part of a team to effect attainment of agreed targets and objectives.
- Ability to develop a good understanding of our customers' business requirements and operations.
- Proactive approach to all tasks undertaken – a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft software including Excel and Word.
- Completion of all relevant documentation to a high standard.
- General plant room and equipment housekeeping duties.
Experience And Qualifications
- Ideally completed a formal apprenticeship in Refrigeration.
- CITB Safety Passport.
- City & Guilds 2078 / 2079 F‑Gas Refrigerant Handling / CITB Ammonia Handling Certificate / A3 Refrigerant Handling / CO2 Refrigerant Handling.
- City & Guilds 207 - Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
- NVQ1, 2 & 3 - Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
- Pressure Testing Competency.
- Specific Compressor Manufacturers Training Courses.
- Controls and Strategy experience.
