Summary of Role

As Apprentice Engineering Maintenance Technician you will work under the supervision of experienced mechanical and electrical and building professionals to learn the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting across a range of building services equipment.

What you will be doing

  • Assist in the maintenance and commissioning of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Support maintenance and repair tasks to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.
  • Learn to interpret technical drawings and specifications to execute installation tasks effectively.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections to assess system performance and compliance with standards.
  • Help in troubleshooting issues and performing necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Develop an understanding of health and safety regulations to promote a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above. A grade 5 in Maths is required for this role.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about a career in engineering.

  • Good level of attendance, self-discipline and time management. Meeting deadlines, managing multiple tasks effectively.

About the apprenticeship

You will be studying towards a Level 3 Engineering Services Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship at City of Bristol College. When not studying, you will work alongside our experienced team. You may be expected to travel to different sites within a geographical region. You will need to manage your time and commitments well to ensure that you are able to complete your assignments whilst delivering a highly valued role. In addition to developing your core engineering skills, you will be expected to support diverse and general maintenance activities across our facilities as part of JLL's comprehensive Total Facilities Management (TFM) service delivery. This may include routine inspections, basic repairs, equipment servicing, and assisting with preventive maintenance schedules. These responsibilities will provide valuable hands-on experience across the full spectrum of facilities management while contributing to overall operational efficiency and will complement your technical development as you progress through the apprenticeship program.

Important Information:

  • GRADES: You will be required to provide your GCSE Grades prior to selection for the Assessment Centre & Interview.
  • The assessment centre for this programme will take place on Monday 6th July in Bristol.
  • Role Start Date: September 2026.
  • Note: You may be required to complete a DBS check, at either basic or enhanced level, depending on the location you will be working in.
