Support the Occupier Manager at The Shard by being an integral member of the team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Electrically‑biased skilled engineer with sound knowledge of HVAC, building services (water, gas, heating and ventilation, waste), building management systems, and preventive maintenance.
- Flexible, can‑do attitude, ready to work outside your skill base to provide customer‑based service.
- Prepared to undertake training as required by the post and the Technical Services Manager.
- Administration skills to maintain computer‑based and hard‑copy systems for statutory inspections and tests.
- React and work on your own initiative on an on‑call system.
- Work on multiple sites as required.
- Plan and prioritise tasks from preventive maintenance and help‑desk requests.
- React to breakdowns and changing priorities.
- Sourcing and vetting of quotations.
- Vetting safe‑system paperwork and issuing permits and authority to work.
- Progress chasing and quality control.
- Close out safe‑system and work‑control system.
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Multi‑Engineer in building services within a prestigious environment.
- City & Guilds qualifications and any relevant qualification in all aspects of building services and electrical engineering.
- Team‑working experience and ability to motivate small teams under substantial pressure.
- Ability to think clearly in extreme circumstances.
Personal Attributes
- Ability to work on your own initiative.
- Good customer liaison skills with a front‑of‑house mentality.
- Can‑do attitude and flexible approach.
