Job Function: Accounting / Auditing and Finance
Responsibilities:
- Take on lead responsibility for the client accounts of specified portfolios (high‑profile or complex).
- Prepare monthly profit and loss accounts and balance sheets that are IFRS/UK GAAP compliant.
- Prepare nominal ledger reconciliations, VAT reporting, cashflows, variance analysis and commentaries.
- Manage audit engagement and liaise for the timely completion of audit information and ensure appropriate sign‑offs.
- Monitor and manage filings, compliance and audits of tax, CIS and VAT, supported by external tax advisors.
- Manage cash and liquidity.
- Prepare contract performance calculations (including KPI’s) as needed.
- Serve as a point of escalation to resolve technical issues (e.g. accounting compliance, VAT).
- Identify and suggest improvements to standardise, streamline and simplify working procedures.
- Liaise with all departments to ensure Key Performance Indicators are achieved and aim to exceed expectations.
- Effectively manage risk by complying with company and legislative procedures and controls, identify problem areas and promptly raise issues.
- Execute any other accounting duties necessary to ensure efficient portfolio operation.
- Act as the main point of contact for specific clients for day‑to‑day portfolio management.
- Liaise with and support surveyors on the portfolio, acting on requests and providing information in a timely manner.
- Attend internal and external meetings as required.
- Ensure strong communication links with client accounts managers and the finance team.
Essential Qualifications:
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA Part Qualified
- Understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS
- Excellent book‑keeping skills
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables & V‑Lookup)
- Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility to work under pressure, multi‑task and prioritise effectively
- Organised, attention to detail and able to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to use own initiative to resolve day‑to‑day issues
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of client systems (Yardi/MRI/Horizon/Voyager)
- Previous experience in a similar client‑facing role
- Experience preparing financial statements
