Role Purpose

The Mobile Electrical Engineer will carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Activities in a variety of commercial premises. Candidates should be located in the required area and have commercial experience. The core of the role is maintenance with some installation work; it requires a strong electrical skillset and a background in Building Services. This is a hands‑on role that suits an individual who can work using their own initiative and has a proactive approach to undertaking all required tasks. The role is client‑facing and requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The engineer will produce quotes for additional work by obtaining material costs and writing up descriptions of the works required.

  • Carry out reactive maintenance repairs across various buildings.
  • Assess and order parts and equipment necessary for individual tasks.
  • Work to recognised industry standards at all times.
  • Participate in flexible working hours and out‑of‑hours emergency cover as required.
  • Undertake training as required, including health and safety courses and further trade development, to maintain current knowledge and professional qualifications (CPD).
  • Assist other trades as/when required.
  • Update/close completed Reactive & PPM tasks on the CAFM System.
  • Ensure engineering standards are maintained to maximise efficient operation and reliability of plant.
  • Adhere to company QA and site procedures in all aspects.
  • Follow Client and Integral Health & Safety procedures at all times.
  • Inspect the condition of services and proactively deal with call‑outs/repairs as required or requested by management.
  • Attend emergencies, inside and outside normal working hours.
  • Keep and maintain all company‑issued tools in a safe and working condition.
  • Provide detailed and accurate reports for remedial works.
  • Produce technical and situational reports as required.
  • Update on‑site log books for compliance purposes.
  • Complete electrical testing and issue certificates or documentation for completed works.
  • Complete on‑site Method Statements and Risk Assessments as necessary.
  • Carry out electrical works such as fault finding and repair, jet‑door control systems, emergency & non‑emergency lighting, lamp changes, socket outlet replacements, BMS and heating controls fault finding, immersion heater fault finding, and other face‑plate maintenance.
  • Perform PPM tasks including emergency light testing, fire alarm testing, distribution board checks, RCBO/RCD testing, fixed wire testing, tap temperature testing and flushing, fan‑coil servicing, AC/AHU filter replacement and cleaning, functional testing and visual inspection of equipment.
  • Other duties as directed by managers within the remit of the role.

What your day‑to‑day will look like

  • Pro‑actively develop and manage stakeholder relationships to achieve expected service levels.
  • Comply with all requirements of the Client contract and meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators.
  • Deliver an exceptional quality of service to the Client, reflected by Client feedback.
  • Ensure the delivery of all operational requirements as per the Client scope of works at the Client Site.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and performance measures to ensure simplification and accuracy of work methods, reliability of systems and consistency.
  • Lead initiatives such as user experience programmes, JLL system roll‑outs, regional training programmes/workshops and other initiatives through driving implementation and consistency across.
  • Drive Client‑specific initiatives such as technology roll‑outs, benchmarking, best practices, etc.
  • Ensure site financial operations meet or exceed targets and controls are adhered to.
  • Ensure compliance with JLL and client Health, Safety, Environment and Risk Management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure data integrity of all systems across the region and perform periodic audits.
  • Ensure SLA/KPI scores are met or exceeded; keep SharePoint information up to date.
  • Resolve user complaints and concerns with solutions and follow‑up.
  • Review and spot‑check suppliers/service providers performance to ensure contractual obligations are delivered.
  • Schedule detailed floor inspections conducted regularly.
  • Implement service tasks, procedures and policies and measure performance.
  • Maintain an effective Work Order system for rectification of defective items/services and ensure timely resolution.
  • Support with critical out‑of‑hours issues and participate in emergency responses.
  • Coordinate churn work and minor project work requested by users.
  • Implement and manage the change control process.
  • Report building incidents following set escalation channels with measures and solutions.
  • Maintain Vendor Contract database, ensuring it is up to date.
  • Manage vendor procurement processes and ensure timely contract execution, negotiation and preparation of tender and contract documents in accordance with guidelines.
  • Generate reports and conduct presentations as per service delivery requirements and overall account management.

Required Skills and Experience

  • NVQ 3 Electrical Installation C&G Level 2 and 3 Diploma Electrical Installation C&G 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or 2330 Levels 2 & 3 C&G 2391 or 2394 & 2395 18th edition certificate.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial electrical systems.
  • Strong electrical & mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Basic plumbing, carpentry and fabric skills are an advantage.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge of building fabric and basic fabric reactive repair experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to act on own initiative.
  • Smart appearance, presentable.
  • Must be available for call‑outs.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work from a smartphone and PDA.
  • Comfortable working within a team environment, willing to follow instructions.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work unsupervised.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to work requirements, willing to accept change.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • IPAF 3a & 3b Pasma certification.
