We are seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our facilities management team supporting a leading bio-pharmaceutical client. This critical role involves maintaining complex building systems across a multi-tenanted campus, including HVAC systems, electrical distribution, communications infrastructure, and critical switch rooms.
Key Responsibilities- Critical Systems Management
- Monitor and maintain HVAC systems
- Oversee water management systems
- Maintain electrical distribution systems and emergency power generation equipment, emergency backup systems, UPS management.
- Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all facility operations comply with statutory compliance
- Complete accurate shift logs, maintenance records, and regulatory documentation
- Participate in regulatory inspections and audits as required
- Maintain calibration schedules for critical monitoring equipment
- Preventive & Reactive Maintenance
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities according to established protocols
- Respond to emergency calls and system alarms within established timeframes
- Troubleshoot and repair building automation systems (BAS) and process equipment
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs
- Safety & Environmental Management
- Implement and maintain safety protocols in accordance with OSHA and company standards
- Monitor environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, and particulate levels
- Manage hazardous waste disposal and chemical storage procedures
- Conduct safety inspections and participate in safety training programs
- Education & Certifications
- Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, or related field
- Relevant trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) preferred
- FDA-regulated environment experience strongly preferred
- Experience
- 3-5 years of facilities engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar regulated environment
- Experience with cleanroom operations and GMP requirements
- Knowledge of building automation systems (Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens)
- Technical Skills
- Understanding of HVAC psychrometrics and cleanroom classifications (ISO 14644)
- Knowledge of electrical systems including motor controls and power distribution
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Basic understanding of process validation and qualification protocols
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 electronic records requirements
