What this job involves
As a Fabric Engineer at JLL, you\’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the structural integrity and appearance of buildings, ensuring they meet UK safety standards and remain in optimal condition. You will work with a diverse portfolio of properties, from historic buildings to modern commercial spaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

What your day-to-day will look like
- Conduct regular inspections of building exteriors and interiors to identify maintenance needs in line with UK regulations
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for building fabric elements
- Manage repair and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with UK building codes and regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to address client concerns and improve property performance
- Prepare detailed reports on building conditions and recommend appropriate actions, adhering to UK industry standards
- Oversee contractors and vendors involved in building fabric maintenance and repairs
- Stay updated on the latest building technologies and sustainable practices in the UK construction industry
Required Qualifications
- Experience in building maintenance or facilities management in the UK
- Strong knowledge of UK building materials, construction methods, and safety regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and UK-specific building management software
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
