As the EMEA MEP Engineering Lead at JLL, you will directly manage all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering operations across client sites throughout the UK and European region. You will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight, directly managing JLL's regional engineering team and coordinating vendor performance across the entire EMEA portfolio.

This senior leadership role requires you to ensure consistent service delivery excellence across all client properties, managing both internal JLL engineers and external service providers to maintain optimal performance of all MEP systems. You will serve as the primary engineering authority for the region, driving operational standards, technical excellence, and client satisfaction across diverse markets.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Regional MEP Leadership & Team Management: Directly manage and develop JLL's EMEA engineering team, including site-based engineers and technical specialists across all regional locations. Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and performance management for direct reports, building technical capability and leadership capacity within the team. Oversee vendor selection, management, and performance across the region, ensuring alignment with engineering standards and service level requirements. Manage engineering operations across all assigned client sites within the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with local regulations, client procedures, and JLL standards.
  • Operational Excellence & Service Delivery: Manage internal and external service level agreements and Key Performance Indicators across all regional sites to ensure contractual obligations are consistently met or exceeded. Ensure standardized delivery of JLL's and client engineering standards across all EMEA markets through direct oversight of operational teams and supply chain partners. Leverage data analytics to drive service delivery excellence, monitoring performance metrics across the regional portfolio and implementing corrective actions where needed. Lead regional life cycle planning and asset validation programs, ensuring proactive maintenance strategies across all client properties.
  • Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients across the region, acting as the senior technical advisor on MEP engineering matters. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and drive value for clients through engineering innovation and operational improvements. Establish and chair monthly engineering forums with key client stakeholders, JLL operational teams, and supplier partners. Lead change request meetings relating to critical maintenance programs with client stakeholders and JLL operational teams.
  • Financial & Risk Management: Hold accountability for regional engineering budgets, ensuring financial targets are met while optimizing engineering cost drivers across the portfolio. Lead regional risk identification and communication programs related to MEP engineering delivery. Drive cost optimization and improvement strategies using quantifiable, data-driven analysis from all available sources. Lead sourcing and procurement of regional contracts for technical products and services.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and engineering standards across all regional properties, promoting a culture of safety excellence. Oversee and coordinate incident management response, investigation, and governance processes in collaboration with client teams and key stakeholders. Lead the investigation of engineering-related incidents, implementing corrective actions and preventative measures.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging MEP technologies, and regulatory changes affecting engineering operations across EMEA markets. Collaborate with the regional and global sustainability team to identify and implement sustainability best practices and innovation initiatives. Drive innovation in MEP service delivery, leveraging new technologies and methodologies to enhance operational performance. Collaborate with the wider JLL engineering network to transfer knowledge relating to industry best practice, risk management, and lessons learned.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively across multiple service verticals to ensure MEP engineering principles are embedded throughout the asset lifecycle. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including property managers, project teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless operations. Oversee and manage relevant elements of JLL's and client engineering assurance programs across the region. Support JLL and client business development pursuits by providing technical expertise and regional operational insights. Provide regular performance updates, reports, and strategic recommendations to senior management, detailing regional achievements, challenges, and improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in MEP engineering management, preferably within the real estate, facility management, or commercial property sectors.
  • Proven track record of directly managing engineering teams and coordinating multiple vendors across regional or multi-site portfolios.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, BMS/controls, and life safety systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of European regulations, codes, and engineering standards governing MEP operations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and retain diverse technical teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships at a regional level.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills with experience interfacing with senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with the ability to make informed technical and operational decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in computer software programs including Microsoft Office, CAFM systems, and engineering management platforms.
  • Professional certifications such as Chartered Engineer (CEng), CIBSE membership, or equivalent highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across EMEA region to support site operations and team development.
