Location - Derby (based at our client Rolls-Royce)
Hours - 40 Monday to Friday
What this job involves:
- As a Building Fabric Technician at JLL, you'll play a crucial role in shaping a brighter way for our client Rolls-Royce and their properties in Derby.
- You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the structural integrity and appearance of buildings, ensuring they meet UK safety standards and remain in optimal condition.
- This position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of properties, from historic buildings to modern commercial spaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- You will have proven multi-skilled maintenance experience working within commercial or industrial environments, demonstrating the ability to undertake a variety of building fabric and maintenance tasks.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Conduct regular inspections of building exteriors and interiors to identify maintenance needs in line with UK regulations.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for building fabric elements.
- Carry out building repairs or maintenance projects across multi trades, ensuring compliance with UK building codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to address client concerns and improve property performance.
- Oversee contractors and vendors involved in building fabric maintenance and repairs.
- Stay updated on the latest building technologies and sustainable practices in the UK construction industry.
Experience Required:
- Experience in building maintenance or facilities management in the UK (general building repairs i.e. basic carpentry / painting / general plumbing / tiling / plastering / grounds repairs).
- Strong knowledge of UK building materials, construction methods, and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and UK-specific building management software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
