Day Engineer

Main Duties of the M&E Technician

You will need a strong understanding of Critical Facilities infrastructure (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & assets). As part of the engineering shift team, your responsibilities include inspecting, operating, and maintaining assets within the critical facility, focusing on risk management and service quality through effective leadership.

You must ensure personnel under your control work safely and professionally. Attendance at site meetings with clients and representing the client when needed is required. Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with safety standards and systems of work.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the M&E Engineer

  • Operate all MEP systems confidently, including MV/LV electrical isolations/operations, and recommend improvements with technical reports.
  • Coordinate service visits from vendors, inspect work quality, and communicate findings to the team and account manager.
  • Maintain minimum staffing levels.
  • Accurately report work completed and record spare parts used, utilizing the Corrigo platform.
  • Review and prepare MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs; participate in drills.
  • Complete weekly reports highlighting significant activities.
  • Participate in health and safety activities, including hazard reporting and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure compliance with JLL MEP processes and risk management documentation for all works.
  • Coordinate with supply chain for M&E component orders.
  • Conduct site assessments and skills gap analyses periodically.
  • Manage areas under JLL control, maintaining high standards.
  • Complete work orders efficiently, acknowledging and closing them within SLA.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in critical environments like banking HQs and data centers.
  • LV Authorised Person (preferred).
  • Electrical/Mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • C&G Pts. 1 & 2, or higher.
  • 18th Edition IEE wiring and installation (training available if only 17th Edition).
  • C&G 2391 testing and inspection; BS 7671 standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact at all levels.
  • Proactive and committed to high standards.
  • Good IT and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure calmly and effectively.
