Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cost & Commercial Analyst to join JLL’s Work Dynamics business on a specific public sector client account. The role provides support in the following areas:

  • M&E Services and Building Fabric analysis, including review and control of engineering-related maintenance costs.
  • Supporting the soft services analyst with the review and control of cleaning and security costs.
  • Supporting the commercial director with contract administration, claims, and other commercial matters.
  • Ad hoc support with cost and commercial matters.

This role is for an experienced professional and may support multiple areas as part of staff development. The appointment would suit:

  • A M&E estimator with building fabric experience looking to move into an intermediate role in real estate consultancy.
  • A facilities management estimator looking to move into an intermediate role in real estate consultancy.
  • A facilities management surveyor who has completed or is completing their RICS APC.
  • A quantity surveyor looking to move into an intermediate role in real estate consultancy.

What This Job Involves

Collaborative Stakeholder Relationships

  • Develop and manage collaborative partnering relationships with the client, the client’s appointed suppliers, the departments occupying the client’s sites, JLL’s account team, and other internal colleagues across the wider JLL business.
  • Work closely with the client’s FM services suppliers to help resolve commercial challenges.
  • Share commercial best practice across the client’s FM services suppliers to improve the overall commercial service the client receives.
  • Lead collaboration workshops and process review sessions to unlock potential cost-saving opportunities, identify added commercial value and innovation across all the client’s FM services suppliers, helping to maximise the commercial benefits the client sees from its supplier partners.
  • Tap into the client’s digital platform to foster data-based decision-making with the client and client’s soft services suppliers.
  • Support the cost and commercial lead in sense-check work by other analysts.

Commercial & Cost Audit

  • Commercial assurance of the costs and best-value approach from the client’s FM services suppliers for chargeable works.
  • Commercial assurance of monthly contractor applications for payment.
  • Commercial assurance of reactive costs.
  • Commercial assurance of potential contract variations.
  • Management of disputed costs.

Savings

  • Manage and support work with the client and client’s FM services suppliers to find cost efficiencies and savings (e.g., real-terms net spend reduction from the agreed baseline).
  • Support the value engineering process on the account.

Benchmarking

  • Support the benchmarking process.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Client-focused individual.
  • Excellent problem solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple work assignments simultaneously, manage conflicting priorities, and operate in a high-pressure environment.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Familiar with MS Office.
