We are recruiting a Residential Maintenance Engineer to work on one of our high-end client sites in London Mayfair, a mixed commercial, retail and residential building in the local area.
Responsibilities
- Operate all building systems in a competent, effective and efficient manner, including Building Management Systems, Blind Control, air handling, AC & terminal units, window vent systems, cooling tower plant, domestic water services, fire prevention and detection systems, VESDA, fire suppression, generators, loads, motors, UPS, emergency lighting and switch panels.
- Issue site permits as part of the Safe System of Work.
- Complete PPM and reactive tasks and update the system.
- Ensure daily tours are completed and report or repair any defects via the Landlord helpdesk.
- Identify and order required materials promptly, completing the Internal Materials Request Form.
- Comply with statutory and company health, safety and environmental regulations and policies.
- Record statutory inspections (fire, access equipment, water hygiene) accurately in their specified folders.
- Ensure Specialist Service Provider worksheets are signed off, the quality of work is inspected, and recommendations escalated to the Contract Delivery Manager.
- Maintain plant areas, workshops, stores and rest areas at the highest housekeeping level.
- Be available on an on-call rota for out-of-hours attendance in the event of emergency.
- Work Monday to Friday, 8 AM–5 PM (hours may change based on property requirements).
Qualifications
- Approved apprenticeship or appropriate experience within Building Services.
- Excellent communication skills – able to deal with staff and customers at all levels.
- Formal qualification in mechanical engineering.
- Experience as an end user of a Building Management System.
- Intermediate computer literacy using Windows Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with experience of report writing.
- Previously a Pressure Systems Authorised Person.
- C&G or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- HND or HNC qualification.
- Conversant with current Health and Safety legislation relevant to safe working practices.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
