JLL's Hotels & Hospitality division is a global business which partners with investors, owners and operators to support and shape investment strategies that deliver maximum value from commercial real estate. A partnership with JLL gives our clients a single point of contact for support in: acquisition advice, asset management, financing, investment sales, project and development services, operator selection and contract negotiation, research consultancy, strategic advisory, valuations, and value recovery.

We are currently seeking an Associate or SVP for UK Hotels Capital Markets for our EMEA Hotels & Hospitality Capital Markets business line to continue the growth of our market leading position in the UK. This is a permanent, full time position and will report directly to the Head of UK Hotels & Hospitality. This individual can be based in the Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or Bristol region (not London).

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and execute the strategic plan for transactions in UK
  • Identify market trends and opportunities, proposing new services and adaptations to the existing portfolio
  • Maintain a passionate and highly motivated team around you, ensuring development and retention as well as hiring of key staff
  • Work seamlessly with the EMEA team to deliver portfolio transactions
  • Ensure optimum delivery capability across the team through planning, training and development, and networking across the broader JLL network where appropriate
  • Deliver the JLL Hotels division to clients throughout UK and the regional market, acting as a trusted advisor to key clients and building a strong personal network
  • Actively contribute in the EMEA Hotels leadership forum, working on cross-divisional projects
  • Ensure close co-operation and build a trusted relationship within the EMEA Hotels & Hospitality team as well as the wider JLL firm

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level; a professional hospitality or real estate qualification would be an advantage e.g. RICS, HCIMA.
  • Relevant work experience within an investment bank, hospitality advisor or investor and experience of both international / operational deals.
  • Track record of end-to-end deal involvement from either side of the transaction with experience of driving the process.
  • Experience of successfully handling multiple projects and keeping parallel processes on track.
  • Intellectually agile accompanied by excellent technical skills including financial modelling and analytical capability.
  • In-depth knowledge of the investor base, including large international operators, private equity funds and family offices, and how to sell into these successfully.
  • Knowledge of the UK hospitality market would be preferred, including working knowledge of the hospitality investment, valuation, acquisition, development and asset management processes as well as financing.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills coupled with a balanced technical knowledge.
  • Good commercial acumen and sense for doing business; entrepreneurial; origination hustle.
  • Results-driven, always striving to achieve challenging targets and deadlines; resilient.
  • Ability to travel throughout UK is essential.
