Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a maintenance technician. The team is multi-skilled and this role provides an opportunity to learn new skills and share your talent. You will be carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance recorded on JLL’s CAFM system and your duties will include:

  • Carrying out regular inspections and repairs on the building fabric/facilities
  • Basic plumbing and drainage repairs
  • Water hygiene
  • Painting
  • Carpentry/joinery
  • Many other tasks that working in a busy shopping centre requires

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out all works requested in a professional and proactive manner
  • Engage with specialist subcontractors
  • Understand and be aware of the requirements of all relevant Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation and be equally aware of your own roles and responsibilities within JLL
  • Maintain accurate site records/documentation in association with all site works
  • Inspect the condition of services and proactively deal with repairs as required
  • Keep and maintain all company issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner
  • Ensure accurate detailed reporting and escalate issues where required
  • Ensure that all materials and equipment are handled, stored, and used with due regard to the relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Actively participate in the health and safety processes required under JLL policies and procedures including, but not limited to, completing risk assessments, reporting good catch /near miss observations, adhering to COSHH guidance
  • Undertake any other reasonable instruction from the Contract Manager

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Experience in building maintenance or facilities management
  • Ability to use PDA with knowledge of computer software/CAFM systems
  • Fabric Engineer apprenticeship/ Carpentry & Joinery qualifications or similar
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Willing to work flexibly within a team
  • Ability to work to time constraints while maintaining high standards and attention to detail
  • Smart appearance, presentable
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to work requirements, willing to accept change
  • Customer focused
  • Reliable

CIRCUMSTANCES

  • Resides geographically near to job site
  • Compliant to company and site personnel policies
  • Flexible to work weekends and on call rota on a rolling pattern shared with the rest of the team
