Exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our London projects teams working across a large portfolio of commercial clients.
Responsibilities:
- Has a good knowledge of and adheres to the Company's Policies and Procedures, IMS and other governance.
- Orders information and systematically checks data.
- Prepares activity schedules, resource schedules & analyses tender documents.
- Provides commercial input to value engineering reviews for different projects.
- Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates with 3rd parties where required.
- Support and challenge the project teams in new tenders, providing commercial input and commercial adjudication to potential works (Go/No-go, CRB, etc).
- Assist with seeking and reviewing potential new revenue streams and business opportunities.
- Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes.
- Sub-contract management: Monitors activities, measures works and responds appropriately with applicable notices. Vetting of sub-contract terms, conditions and contract placement.
- Analyses the commercial progress and reports to senior project staff.
- Experienced in contract management: Issue and management of Early Warning Notices / EWN Register, Risk Register & Ownership, Compensation/Relevant Events and alike.
- Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility.
- Undertakes constructability analysis using construction programmes.
- Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy.
- Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required.
- Maximises entitlement and overall project value under the contract.
- Undertakes customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility.
- Monthly valuations, final accounts and post contract settlement including defects management.
- Dispute management: Management of contractual disputes. Prepare, submit and negotiate claims when required.
- Vetting of contractual terms & conditions in accordance with Integral house rules.
- Cash management: Commercial processes involved with debt recovery, retentions and cash flow.
- Prepares internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation.
- Maintains own Personal Development Plan.
- Manages HR/People aspects for direct and indirect reports (IDPs etc).
- Actively supports the development of others.
- Produces plans for team to achieve goals / aspirations.
- Supports recruitment of lower grades.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management, Finance, Economics, Law or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in commercial management, contract negotiation, or related roles.
- Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and relationship management.
- Experience gained in commercial environments demanding financial goals and business growth.
- Experience with CRM systems and contract management tools.
