Role overview
We are looking for an Analyst level individual to join our Debt and Structured Finance team in London. JLL Debt & Structured Finance are expanding their 30-strong European team and are seeking an analyst that is looking to build a successful career in Real Estate Finance. You will be joining a collaborative and highly active team, where you will work closely with the senior analysts, associates, and directors. You will play an important role in underwriting and executing financing advisory assignments, as well as supporting pitches and other origination activities.

Typically, analysts spend 1-2 years as analysts, 1-2 years as senior analysts, and 1-2 years as associates prior to moving into a director role.
Day-to-day activities
- Broad Sector & Jurisdiction Exposure: Closely work with the senior analysts and associates to underwrite all different property sectors and business plans (investment, value-add, ground-up development, etc.) across all major European jurisdictions.
- Financial Modelling: Model detailed unlevered and levered scenarios to align with the base case property business plan, as well as individual financing structures – underwriting is primarily performed in Microsoft Excel.
- Financing Memoranda: Prepare detailed financing memoranda – work with the client, other JLL analysts, JLL directors and JLL’s graphics team to create 30-100-page overviews of financing opportunities, summarising key elements of the financing request, underlying collateral, business plan, market, and sponsorship.
- Lender Outreach: Assist with the marketing of financing opportunities, coordinate lender Q&A’s and track feedback, and assist in lender outreach after gaining experience.
- Loan Execution Analysis: Create detailed quote matrices and analyse options by modelling different terms and structures as financing quotes are received.
- Transaction Management: Coordinate all party calls, conditions precedent, and key deadlines during the closing process.
- New Mandate Origination: Prepare detailed RFP responses and pitch decks to assist directors in securing new mandates; documents are typically created in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Relevant Research Projects: Lead occasional research projects related to specific sectors, locations or clients.

- Some previous experience in a professional working environment or an internship with either a Real Estate or Financial Services organisation
- High-level analytical skills and problem-solving ability

- A self-starter who takes initiative, demonstrates good time management and is organised
